Peach Blossom Poetry Series, April 19

blossomApril is National Poetry Month and also the beginning of all things spring! If you’ve ever been to Portland, Oregon then you know how stir crazy we Portlanders can get after the long months of gloom and rain. As a gardener, April is the month when I can start putting my small plants and seedlings in the ground and start dreaming about portly tomatoes and the dew-trimmed petals of summer’s first roses.

Portland is lucky to be home to several outstanding gardens, among them Lan Su Chinese Gardens in the Pearl District, one of my favorite places to take my camera and my notebook and enjoy a cup of tea. And it just so happens that the smart folks over at Lan Su know that nothing goes better together than spring, gardens, and poetry. Each season they host the Peach Blossom Poetry Series, to celebrate National Poetry Month. The readings take place on Saturdays from 3-4 pm and are free with garden admission.

I’ll be reading on Saturday, April 19 and hope to see you there!
